Our Commitment to CTPAT

ArcBest® is committed to making the world a better, safer place to live, and that includes doing our part to strengthen international supply chains and improve U.S. border security. One way we’ve accomplished this is through our U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certifications through some of our subsidiary and affiliate companies. To meet critical CTPAT requirements, we have enhanced security measures in place, regularly review security processes and procedures, and provide U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) a security profile highlighting these important safety measures. This includes the areas of risk assessment, business partners, procedural security, conveyance and IIT, agricultural procedures, access controls, personnel security, education & training, and cybersecurity.

ArcBest companies participating in the CTPAT program include:

What is CTPAT?

CTPAT was established in 2001 as a voluntary program that encourages close cooperation between CBP and importers, carriers, and other key stakeholders involved in international supply chains. Its goal is to make U.S. borders more secure and fight the war against terrorism through identifying security vulnerabilities and implementing best practices that maintain the highest level of cargo security. More than 11,400 CTPAT members are dedicated to this joint effort.

How our CTPAT Certifications can benefit ArcBest customers

CTPAT is like TSA Precheck for containers and trailers arriving at U.S. borders. As a trusted CTPAT partner, our customers may recognize benefits that can help get products across the border faster through:

  • Shorter wait times at the border
  • Decreased likelihood of inspections
  • The ability to move ahead of non-CTPAT-certified containers in the inspection line for full containers that are selected for inspection
  • Less time spent waiting for cargo to be released by U.S. Customs
