Road Team members demonstrate knowledge and experience
The ABF Freight Road Team was established in 1990 and modeled after the American Trucking Associations’ America’s Road Team. ABF Road Team representatives serve as ambassadors for both ABF Freight and the trucking industry at large during a two-year term. They are available for speaking engagements at civic and fraternal organizations, school events, career days and other functions. When called upon, Road Team members speak about topics like safe driving, the image of the truck driver and how the motoring public can safely share the road with trucks.
Candidates for the honor must have at least 10 years of professional driving experience and an exemplary driving record. Local and regional managers nominate eligible drivers, and a steering committee makes the final selections.
Load Team exhibits excellence in safety and quality
Established in 1994 (with the first team announced in 1995), the ABF Load Team is made up of highly skilled professionals who handle freight at ABF service centers. The Load Team visits corporate headquarters in Fort Smith, AR each year to share information on dock procedures and equipment.
ABF service center managers and regional vice presidents of operations select Load Team members based on safety record, integrity, involvement in the Quality Process, and the ability to load trailers with efficiency and precision.
