What is the Panther Holiday Season Empty Move Program?
The primary goal of the program is to get you loaded with freight that’s going toward your home during your preferred holiday time — so you’re not driving empty. As a secondary option, Panther can arrange an empty move with paid repositioning miles (at a rate similar to deadhead miles). Either way, you get paid for your time behind the wheel.
Which holidays are included?
The program covers holiday season empty moves starting Thanksgiving Week 2022 through Orthodox Christmas 2023 (January 7). You may choose only one date in that window to go home, either with a shipment or with paid repositioning miles.
When am I able to request holiday home time?
Thanksgiving home time requests may be made starting Nov. 17. December home time requests may be made beginning at Thanksgiving.
How do I qualify for an empty move?
To qualify for a holiday empty move during Thanksgiving Week, you must:
- Be fully available to work from Nov. 10-23
- Accept all freight with no valid refusals from Nov. 10 through the date you are issued your empty move
- Request your move through whoever oversees your fleet
To qualify for a holiday empty move from Thanksgiving through January 7, 2023, you must:
- Be fully available to work for 2 weeks from the date you request home time (not from the date you want to be home)
- Accept all freight with no valid refusals for 2 weeks from the date you want to be home
- Request your move through whoever oversees your fleet

How do I request home time or an empty move?
You can request home time by following the automated prompts in the Fleet Mobile app. For empty move requests, connect to the Panther Fleet Experience team by messaging through the Fleet Mobile app or by calling Panther Fleet Experience at (800) 830-7592.
What if something happens beyond my control that affects my availability?
Panther understands that unexpected circumstances — like a vehicle repair, a safety issue or a weather-related delay — can take you out of commission for an extended time period. If something prevents you from meeting the qualifications for an empty move, contact a Fleet Experience representative as soon as possible to see if they can help.
