Customers with complex supply chains may think that means they face a complicated decision regarding their shipping partner, but that’s not always the case.
When ABF Freight driver George Hampton delivered ReloCubes for a U-Pack customer moving to a new city, the customer was so impressed that he made multiple phone calls just to rave about George.
Moving can be a high-stress experience, and customers turn to U-Pack and its “you pack, we drive” service for an easier and affordable move. The customer said George answered every question and “explained every detail well.”

While talking with John Vire, president of Vire Control Systems, Gary quickly learned that he needed to ship equipment to Puerto Rico, but he had not shipped to Puerto Rico before and didn’t know where to begin. ABF Freight provides direct service to and from Puerto Rico, and Gary Don explained the process to John.
When a logistics professional’s customer faced “an ever-closing delivery window” for an in-transit shipment, he began working to see if his customer’s issues could be resolved. He reached out to the shipment’s destination terminal, an ABF Freight facility, and got in touch with Operations Manager Dennis Richey.
“From the moment I made that first phone call, Dennis’ level of professionalism and willingness to help made an immediate and positive impression on me,” said William Atkins, an LTL service representative for a logistics company. “I never once heard the word ‘no.’”
Returning to work after a long holiday weekend, the manager of a lawn and garden company found she had received a letter praising the ABF Freight driver who delivered a riding lawnmower to one of their customers.
Driver Shane Powell delivered the large mower and helped the customer open the box to look it over.
“Your driver was probably not aware that the customer was a disabled veteran amputee, and yet it was so timely that he extended this kindness to him just before the Memorial Day holiday,” she wrote to the ABF Freight branch manager.

An auto parts distributor needed to close a facility and consolidate and move its inventory in only one week’s time, and sought a transportation partner to make it happen.
ABF Freight teamed up with Moving Staffers, an ABF Logistics brand, to provide a quote for labor to meet the customer’s expectations. The customer needed to move 30,000 square feet of product in various stages of packaging from Massachusetts to Ohio.
Often, customers are so pleased with the way the ArcBest companies solve a transportation problem for them that they look to the ArcBest team to solve additional challenges.
ABF Freight account managers have to have extensive knowledge of the services the company provides, as well as confidence in those services so they can find solutions for a customer’s unique needs.
Account Manager Candice Ervin had been in contact with a manufacturer for quite some time. She talked to them several times to better understand their business and their unique needs. She knew winter was the busiest time of year for their business, and by asking the right questions, she learned they required several time-sensitive shipments to locations all over the country.
